Caring 4 Cario: From Cafeteria to Cario Café

This year, the Cario PTSO’s Caring 4 Cario campaign is focused on transforming one of the most-used spaces in our school: the cafeteria.

 

Our goal is to create the Cario Café — a more comfortable, welcoming and student-centered place where our Comets can eat lunch, connect with friends, recharge and feel proud of their school.

 

Right now, our cafeteria is functional, but very traditional. We want to reimagine it with a more modern café feel that better reflects how students use the space every day.

 

With your support, we hope to add:

  • Round café-style tables that encourage conversation

  • Comfortable bench and booth seating

  • Updated tables and chairs

  • Flexible and high-top seating options

  • Large TVs for school news, student announcements and special events

  • More Cario Comet spirit and school branding

  • A warmer, more inviting atmosphere for our students

This project is about more than furniture.

 

Research shows that students who feel connected to their school are more likely to have better attendance, stronger engagement and better academic outcomes. A positive, welcoming school environment can help strengthen students’ sense of belonging and connection — something that is especially important during the middle school years.

 

We want our students to walk into the cafeteria and feel:

A place to sit with friends. A place to catch up. A place to celebrate. A place to see what is happening around Cario. A place where they feel like they belong.

Our Goal: $60,000+

Our goal is to raise at least $60,000 through this year’s Caring 4 Cario campaign.
