Rent the Rock

Thanks to the amazing Weaver family, the Cario PTSO is pleased to offer families the opportunity to decorate the enormous rock in front of our school to celebrate your favorite Comets! 

A few things to remember when renting the rock: 

• You rent the rock for the day of the special occasion of your choice. That rental will begin at 4PM the EVENING BEFORE the day of rental and end at 4PM on the day of rental at which point it may be painted over by the next renter.  In other words, if you are renting for May 10, you will select May 10 as your date, then have access to the rock at 4pm May 9 to paint it and on May 10 at 4pm the next family will be allowed to paint it.

• Please be sure to take all of your photographs either right after you have painted it or before dismissal on your rental day.

• There are NO refunds due to bad weather. 

• Any spray paint or acrylic paint works great on the rock. A solid coat of white over top of the previous artwork is always a great way to ensure your new art is seen.

• You are required to clean up all trash and supplies after you have painted the rock. Be mindful to keep all paint on the actual rock and not allow it on the landscaping, building, or sidewalks.

• We only Rent the Rock on school days.  If your child's birth date falls on a weekend, during a break or day off,  or over the summer, pick a school day that works best for you. 

• All words and images on the rock must meet the same standard expected of any school sponsored sign, attire, events, etc. Renting the rock for advertising, commercial, political, or religious purposes is prohibited. Carolina Park PTO or the school administration has the right to remove any painting deemed inappropriate without notice to those who painted the rock.

• Vulgar, lewd, obscene or plainly offensive paintings are not permitted and will be removed, as will any paintings/messages that may cause substantial disruption to school operations.

• Your paintings do not reflect the endorsement, sponsorship, position, or expression of the school. Paintings that appear to represent otherwise (i.e., that appear to be endorsed by, or coming from, the school) are not permitted and will be removed.
